About
Anyone who knew me at four years old would not be surprised that I now play dress-up for a living. Nor would my four-year-old self. This is pretty much exactly what I've always wanted to do, even if I didn't quite know the bones of it at the time.
I studied entrepreneurship, spent time at London College of Fashion, and went on to spend 15 years working across the fashion industry. Buying, startups, Nordstrom, The RealReal, styling. I learned the industry from just about every angle. And I learned all the rules. What's flattering. What goes together. What's “in.” What's “out.” What every woman needs in her closet.
At a styling startup I worked for, we talked constantly about versatility and building a capsule wardrobe. My coworkers joked that my version of a capsule looked a little different. To me, a yellow boot could be a wardrobe essential.
I started attracting clients who liked my vision better. They told “that one friend,” and so on. Those were always my favorite clients to work with, and soon my clientele was the most colorful, eccentric ladies to walk into our clubhouse.
That was the beginning of what would eventually become Tangerine Queen.
I started Tangerine Queen in 2021 to do styling my way. With vintage, without the rules, and with a whole lot of joy. It wasn't about shopping and selling. It was about the experience of playing dress-up and letting loose. With my professional supervision and guidance, of course.
Vintage is perfect for that. Mix decades, colors, silhouettes, designers, prints, and price points. It's not about “Is this in?” It's about “Do I fucking love this?”
Tangerine Queen is the place I always wanted shopping to feel like. You don't have to dig through the noise to find the good stuff. I do the digging and curate the best for you. You don't need to know what you're “supposed” to wear. You don't need to already know how to dress boldly.
